A new £660,000 village square has been completed in Birmingham.

The Kings Heath Village Square has been built using a £430,000 grant from the Big Lottery's Community Spaces Fund, money from Birmingham City Council and Kings Heath Centre Partnership.

Vivien Thickett from All Saints Community Development Company, said: "We now have a beautiful square for all members of the community to enjoy."

The Vilage Square was opened on Saturday 15 October 2011 by the Lord Mayor and the Bishop of Birmingham.

Wendy Jenkins - Programmes Director at Groundwork UK, which manages Community Spaces, said: "The Kings Heath village square is one our flagship projects and I am delighted to see how the vision of the local community has become a reality."
